increase renewables

Increasing renewables is one of three ways we can get to 50 by ’30. (The other two things we can do are Reduce Demand and Increase Efficiency.)

Increasing renewables has two components—increasing the production of renewable energy, and increase the consumption of that energy. Sometimes the production and consumption is combined (like when a business puts solar panels on its roof). Sometimes they are separate—like when we build a hydro dam (production) or switch to electric buses (consumption).

In Manitoba, we have made a start on increasing the types and amount of renewables we produce and use, but we have a very long way to go.

If you, your business, or your organization have taken steps to increase renewable energy sources, tell us about it, and we’ll post it here.
